A Flavour Of Representation
Bring a small bag of pick and mix sweets or bring some mixed fruit to the group. Ask each of the people to choose their favourite sweet from the bag.
- put the people into pairs
- Ask the pairs to decide between them through negotiation and discussion what is their joint favourite sweet
- Give them a couple of minutes to do this and some support
- Remind them that they have to come to an agreement on one flavour and support them to do this.
- Now ask all the children to come back together as a group. They now have to decide what their group sweet is.
- The key message here is that they as a group have decided one sweet that they all agree on.
